Red Cabbage Braise
Braising cabbage is such a delicious winter dish - if you like your greens a little more savoury, try substituting the sweeties (sugar, apples, sultanas) in this recipe with savoy cabbage or sliced fennel and add some toasted fennel seeds.
This is a delicious winter dish to serve with roast meats.
Place cabbage, oil and onion in a large heavy based saucepan and stir fry for 3-4 minutes.
Add vinegar and sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved.
Add sultanas and apples.
Cover tightly and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
